Dr. Schumacher is so great! He truly listens to you and tries to understand where you're coming from. He is very clear about the weight loss surgeries he provides and even draws you a picture of the procedure to help you visualize it. He is very descriptive of what the surgery and expected outcome. Dr. Schumacher and his entire staff are absolutely amazing! As a longtime patient, there has never been a time that I was ever disappointed with an appointment.

Dr Schumacher basically saved my life. I had been sick for 2 years and getting no help each time I went to the ER. Ft Hamilton hospital found my med records from 26 years ago under my old name. From there I was transferred to Atrium hospital and Dr Schumacher was willing to take my case on. He said I was malnourished and needed surgery to fix things from 26 years ago, it was more extensive, I suppose, than originally thought. He ended up doing 3 surgeries in about an 8 day period. It has been the hardest part of my life after all I went thru but I can say he was sent to me by God, he has excellent bedside manners and he truly cares about all his patients. I will never forget him and if anyone needs general surgery or weight loss surgery I highly recommend him. I have never dealt with a physician as kind hearted as he is. His staff has always been great too. Everyone was so kind to me, including his nurse practitioner, Jade. Thank you again Dr Schumacher and Jade. I will never forget you.

Prior to seeing Dr.S I had absolutely horrible experiences with our local weight loss office. It was a night and day difference and I'm so happy I decided on him for my medical needs. He had everything in order by my 2nd visit after dealing with my local office for 19 months. The office staff are very caring and helpful. I love the text options for questions that aren't of urgent status. You'll be in good hands here.

Dr. Schumacher was very thorough and easy to speak to. After sending me for a couple of tests and due to the complexity of my results, he personally called me to discuss them and then directed me to find a vascular surgeon to address my issues. After having great difficulty trying to find a surgeon familiar with my rare case and necessary surgery, while dealing with emotional distress, I called him and he personally stepped in and went above and beyond to find me a surgeon. I will always be grateful to Dr. Schumacher for going the extra distance in order to help me. I definitely recommend him to anyone needed a top gastric bypass surgeon.

I am so glad I chose ohio bariatrics! Some surgeons only seem to want to offer sleeves, but dr. Schumacher reviewed the options and let me choose a surgery that we both agreed was right for me, the RNY. You can tell he knows what he is doing, and has a great bedside manner too. It's rare to find a doctor both seasoned in one they do and also compassionate.

After having a horrible experience with a different doctor. Everyone kept suggesting I go to Dr. Schumacher, I called to make the appointment and the staff was amazing. I met Dr Schumacher back in 2015 I had a hysterectomy and I completely dehisced Dr Jackson she was the OB she did the hysterectomy an wouldn't take responsibility for what had happened she refused to come to my surgery to tell him that everything he put together was correct if it wasn't for him I would have died of septic. He is a great man and always will be to me in my eyes because he did save my life and people who say negative things about Dr Schumacher is because they don't qualify for the surgery so they want a bad mouth him which is completely unfair. He is the most welcoming understanding caring Physicians that I have ever met in my life he treats everybody like a person and not somebody there who he's going to perform surgery on you're more than that to him he looks as his patients as his extended family and he takes pride in the work that he does. He's just one of those kinds of doctors when you meet its like you have known him all your life. Please don't let these negative comments distract you from the truth just go and meet him and you will see what people have said about him is untrue and unfair to such a great doctor we're losing Physicians like Dr Schumacher everyday and we cannot afford to do that.

I recommend Dr. Schumacher to everyone I know who is considering bariatric surgery. I started researching surgery way back in 2004! I didn’t have my surgery until 2019! So I spent YEARS going back and forth on if it was something I really wanted to do, finding the right surgeon, etc. I finally attended one of his seminars in 2017 and I knew immediately that I found the right surgeon. I had the sleeve and I have no regrets at all. I’ve lost over 200 pounds, reversed all of my health issues, and I’m now living an active life. Forever thankful for Dr. S and him giving me my life back.
